EXCEPT acknowledged by the EU commission as a policy impact success story
In a recent factsheet by EU Commission “Making research results work for society: sharing knowledge and informing policy” EXCEPT project was mentioned as one of three good examples of projects successful in reaching out to policymakers.
The EXCEPT project was credited on its success in using the projects results to inform policy makers in many EU countries about policy initiatives for young people to overcome labour market insecurities and related risks. The other two projects acknowledged were H2020 SAPEA “Science Advice for Policy by European Academies” and H2020 PREPARE “Platform for European Preparedness for (Re-)emerging Epidemics: readiness of hospitals in Europe, enhancing understanding of the dynamics of epidemics”.
The fact sheet with Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen on the header focused on the crucial role of science in informing policy highlighted even more by the fight against coronavirus pandemic. The EU valorisation policy plays a key role in matching the increased demand for research results, knowledge and data to inform policy, as well as delivering on the benefits of public funded research to prepare and transform EU society for a more sustainable, fair and inclusive future.
